My Christmas Projects

No pictures on this yet. But I'm working on a million homemade projects for Christmas presents this year. We're trying to be very economical and use things we have. I got a bunch of fabric from a lady in our ward a while ago. This morning I finished making the girls a nightgown. It's a pink knit fabric and I think it turned out really cute. I don't like to buy pajamas at the store because it seems they are overpriced and are flame resistant (which I've heard it's not the greatest) So, for the cost of the pattern $2.00 I made them pajamas. Also the pattern has pj pants that I'm almost done too, so the cost is less than $1.00 a piece. I love when I'm thrifty. It doesn't happen that often, but when it does it feels great. Tonight I'm finishing the flannel pj pants and then onto another project. Happy sewing.

You're a very talented women, Emily! Please tell us more about the flame resistant issue--are there health concerns or what?? In the meantime you go, Martha Stewart!

There was a study I saw on a TV show awhile ago about the chemicals in these "flame resistant" clothing. Some believe that it's transfered into the person. It was nothing big, just enough to creep me out. So, I just look for other options, which there a ton of.

How did I miss out on receiving the sewing gene? Turns out I'm going to submit sewing requests to YOU from now on :)

Wow, way to go Em! I wish I could sew pants, I know you are probably thinking "but they are so easy." Well I'm just a beginner and I'm jealous! I am trying to brainstorm some Christmas gift ideas this year. Even though Luke isn't even going to remember Christmas this year and we aren't even getting him much, Christmas is so much more fun with kids! I'm sure you understand. You are so crafty and talented!
