October fun weekend in Texas!

This past Saturday was a lot of fun for the fam. First thing, we went on a Pecan nut hunt not far from our house. I've seen a lot of older Asian couples out picking up pecans and having sacks full of them. These trees grow everywhere, so any green space is fair game. I've never seen a family go pick them, but I made that change. I forgot my camera, which makes me sad, but we had lot of fun. We found two big trees and started filling up our sacks. I wanted to get enough to make a Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving, and we did that. I may even take the kids again this coming Saturday while Doug is gone. It was fun for me.
Later that day we went to pick out a pumpkin to carve. I only knew of one actual "pumpkin patch" and it was pretty pricey just to enter, so we chose a great Nursery. The kids got to pick out their own pumpkins, and Sawyer pulled the wagon. With free popcorn and water, the kids were pretty satisfied. I tried to get a picture with all four together, but Sawyer doesn't like to stand still at all.
